LOKOYA Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon 2009
This wine is exactly why we love Petite Sirah. The Macauley Petite stands with a rich deep color, broad volume, structured tannins and perfectly toned muscle in the back palate. This wine is singing! Black in color and rich in fruit, aromatics of cedar, toasted bread and dried cherry rise from the glass first. It is such an exotic wine to look at, one can hardly wait to taste it. The palate melded very nicely with an extra year of aging prior to release. Purple fruit flavors dance on the tongue. The density is indeed rich with a poignant, yet focused middle. The powerful and blocky tannic structure, so familiar to Petite Sirah, lends to the lasting finish of this boastful red. Cellared correctly, I believe this Petite Sirah will drink well to 2030 and beyond.
